Actor Luke Macfarlane has taken on a new role: dad! The Hallmark Channel star, who has appeared in 15 TV movies for the network, revealed that he welcomed a baby with his partner Hig Roberts. The actor had not previously revealed that he was expecting, nor had he shared he was in a committed relationship.
Luke and Hig welcomed a baby girl and chose to name her Tess Eleanor Macfarlane. Tess was born on June 4th and the Killjoys star shared, “We started life with some hectic days and received world class care.” The couple approrpiately took their daughter home from the hospital on Father’s Day. “On Father’s Day we got to take her home. Her Dads can’t wait to introduce her to all the remarkable people and the beautiful world we live in.”
Luke’s Hallmark family flooded the comments to congratualte the couple on their new arrival. Luke’s A Magical Christmas co-star Alison Sweeney wrote, “This is incredible news!! I am SO happy for all three of you!!!!!! Congrats.” Nikki Deloach, who starred in Christmas Land with the new dad, commented, “Huge congrats Luke! So thrilled for you.” Erin Krakow, who appeared in Sense, Sensibility & Snowmen with Luke, wrote, “The best! So happy for you!!!”
The Brothers and Sisters alum has remained tight-lipped about his romantic relationships in the past. While he and Hig, a sports agent, have shared pictures with each other on their respective Instagram pages, they’ve never tagged one another in photos until Luke announced Tess’s arrival. Back in September 2022 while promoting his film Bros, the actor was asked by Page Six about his dating life. Luke, who came out in 2008, replied, “I’m not going to talk about that at all. I give you my performance and you give me my privacy.”
