Singer Maddie Marlow is going to become a mom! The “Die From a Broken Heart Singer” has announced that she and her husband Jonah Font are expecting their first child together, due to arrive in the fall. “Jonah & I are over the moon and feel so blessed we get to be parents.”
Maddie, one part of the country music duo Maddie & Tae, is due to give birth in September and she shared that the couple will be welcoming a son. In an exclusive announcement with PEOPLE, Maddie revealed when the couple learned of their pregnancy. “We found out in early January that we were expecting. I surprised Jonah with a little card and the positive tests once he came home from work.” After her announcement, the singer took to her Instagram Stories with a picture of her on tour and shared, “I can’t believe no one guessed it before I announced. I’ve been bumpin on tour.”
The “Girl in a Country Song” singer and the chef are looking forward to becoming parents. “We are so excited to become parents!” Maddie shared with PEOPLE. “We’ve always wanted babies, so it is surreal that this chapter is beginning for us. We feel so grateful that God chose us to be this sweet little boy’s parents!” The couple met during their sophomore year in high school while living in Texas. Before Maddie moved to Nashville at 17, Jonah gave her a promise ring. The couple became engaged in 2018 and tied the knot in November 2019.
Maddie’s bandmate Taylor Dye Kerr, who goes by Tae, had suspected her partner might be pregnant. “Oddly enough, my duo partner, Tae, had a feeling I was pregnant before I even knew!” Tae become a mother last year when she welcomed her daughter Leighton Grace in January 2022.
