In honor of National Breastfeeding Week, actress Mandy Moore took to Instagram to share her journey with breastfeeding her first child. The star of This Is Us welcomed a baby boy with her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, in February of this year.

Mandy shared a series of images of her breastfeeding her son named August Harrison, whom she and Taylor affectionately called Gus for short. One of the images showed Mandy breastfeeding her son at work while in costume for her role as Older Rebecca on This Is Us.

Mandy began her post writing, “Breastfeeding is not always smooth sailing (clogged ducts, timing life around feedings, pumping for when I’m at work, etc… ) but nursing this baby boy for the past nearly 6 months has been a beautiful, messy and an oh so rewarding experience I will treasure forever.”

Mandy went on to share how thankful she is that she was able to breastfeed Gus. “It goes without saying that #fedisbest and I’m grateful to my body and the tremendous support I’ve had around me (especially in the beginning days and weeks when I had no clue what I was doing) for allowing me this time to nourish my sweet guy.”

Thank you so much to Mandy for sharing her story during National Breastfeeding Week!
