Actress Melissa Benoist, star of the show Supergirl has welcomed her first child with her husband Chris Wood!

The actress took to Instagram to share a sweet photo of her husband holding their newborn baby’s hand. It’s a boy! Melissa shared that her son was born a few weeks ago and that she and Chris named him Huxley Robert Wood. What a precious name!

Back in March, the actress revealed the news on Instagram by sharing a photo of herself, her husband, and their dogs. Melissa held up a baby-size blue sweater and the couple each wore blue shirts. “A non-canine child is coming to our family very soon!!!” she shared.

While it would appear obvious that their new bundle of joy would be a boy, given the colors they chose to wear for the photo, it wasn’t until a few weeks later that Chris officially announced his first child’s gender. He shared an image of two New Balance shoes: one adult size and the other child-size, along with the caption, “My little boy is gonna rock 990s just like his dad and that makes the world feel a little less sad today.”

Melissa and Chris, who is also an actor, met on the set of Supergirl in 2016. Sweetly enough, the couple plays love interests on the show, in which Melissa stars in the titular role. The couple became engaged in February of 2019 and tied the knot a few months later in September.

Congratulations to Melissa and Chris on the arrival of their baby boy!
