Congratulations to singer Michelle Branch and her fiancé, Patrick Carney — the couple recently welcomed their first child together, a baby boy!
Michelle took to Instagram to share the first photo of their little guy and his name, writing, “Patrick and I are over the moon in love with our son Rhys James Carney.”
The name Rhys is of Welsh origin, meaning “running.”
She also shared his measurements and birth date, noting: “Born August 28th, 2018 At 11:48pm 8 lbs 13oz 20 inches.”
Michelle and Patrick got engaged last year, but in February explained that they were expecting, writing: “Well, we were just about to send out Save The Dates for our wedding in May when we got this little surprise… wedding is postponed and Baby Carney is happening this summer! Patrick and I couldn’t be more excited!”
Michelle has a 13-year-old daughter, Owen, from a previous relationship.
