Model Katrina Scott, who made history this year when she became the first visibly pregnant woman to be featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, has announced the arrival of her second child! Katrina and her husband Brian welcomed their second child together on May 24th at 5:38 AM.
It’s a girl! The couple chose to name their second daughter Collette Jane. “Her name means victory,” Katrina wrote in her post, “and her middle name is after mama Jane… little C.J.”
Before becoming pregnant with Collette, Katrina suffered two miscarriages and one chemical pregnancy. Katrina, who was named Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year in 2021, shared her appreciation for her rainbow baby in her post writing, “After quite the journey, our rainbow baby is earthside and she’s everything we imagined and more. Brian and I could feel our angels looking after us, especially during our labor and delivery.” The Tone It Up co-founder also shared a post-birth status. “We’re still at the hospital recovering, but we can’t wait to introduce her to all of you very soon. Thank you for all your love and kind messages— it has meant the absolute world to us.”
Katrina and Brian, who have been together since they were 19 and 20 years old, share one daughter together, whose name is Isabelle. Katrina had been very open about her struggles with secondary infertility before beginning in-vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. She shared at the time, “You just never think you would walk into this fertility journey. Now, it’s just part of our story. The biggest thing that I didn’t realize is secondary infertility accounts for about 50% of infertility. I think the biggest difference between the first blissful pregnancy announcement with our first daughter is I’ve been so nervous it won’t work out.”
After announcing her pregnancy at the close of 2021, Katrina shared a touching message on the challenges she was facing during her pregnancy in January. “Sharing pregnancy after loss feels so different. We’re just holding onto each day, each appointment, and each heartbeat with a new appreciation. I was actually so nervous to share… I kept checking my at-home doppler to make sure. It all seems like a dream still— every part of it. Last night she was fluttering and rolling and it reminded me that she’s there and she’s holding on strong. Hang in there baby girl… we’ve prayed a long time for you.”
