Actor Patrick Renna is growing his family! The Monster Summer star and his wife Jasmin announced they are expecting their third baby together. “Couldn’t be more excited.”
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the couple revealed Jasmin’s pregnancy and revealed their baby’s sex. It’s a girl! The Sandlot star and his wife share two sons together: Flynn, 7, and Liam, 4. Of having a baby girl, the actor shared, “Finding out we’re having a baby girl was the best surprise, and my wife, our two boys, and I couldn’t be more excited to meet her.”
Patrick divulged a little mishap in learning his baby’s sex. He recalled that he and Jasmin, who tied the knot in 2006, “were convinced we were having our third boy because I mistakenly looked at our second son’s test results from 2020. Whoops!” He continued, “so for two weeks, we were all set on welcoming another little guy – until the doctor called and told us the real news.”
The actor’s family news comes ahead of his debut children’s book, releasing next week on February 25th. The child star’s book A Little Slugger’s Guide to the Unwritten Rules of Baseball and Life was inspired by his sons. “Reading books and finding the right books and the messages and things like that are really important with younger kids and all the way into the double digits and early teens.” He went on to share how he felt writing a baseball-inspired children’s book. “Combining lessons in life with lessons in baseball was a lot of fun to do. It’s amazing how similar it is to live an how, if you have a good head on your shoulders or you have a good outlook on sports, that can transfer over.”
