Singer Perrie Edwards of the British girl group Little Mix has announced that she and her partner, professional soccer star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, are expecting their first child together. The news comes just one week after Perrie’s Little Mix bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock announced she was expecting as well.
Perrie shared two black and white images to her Instagram page to announce the news. In the first, her growing baby bump is the focus while Alex’s hands hold her belly from behind. In the second, Perrie and Alex are beaming. Perrie captioned her photo, “So happy to be on this wild journey with my soulmate. Me + Him = You 🌎♥️ We can’t wait to meet you baby Ox!” Alex shared the same images to his Instagram page with the caption, “Anyone got any advice on how to change nappies? 😅 so grateful and excited to become a dad ❤️ bring on the sleepless nights 🤪”
Perrie’s Little Mix bandmates wished her congratulations in the comment section of her post. Leigh-Anne Pinnock wrote, “Arghhhhhhhh so so so happy for you both! And so bloody happy we get to go on this journey together! Love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” while Jade Thirwell shared, “😭😭😭 beaming for you both ♥️ I’m the luckiest auntie in the world! Love youuuuu x.”
The “Secret Love Song” singer, who was previously engaged to One Direction member Zayn Malik, has been dating Alex publicly since 2016. Reports claim the couple has been together since November 2016 but their relationship wasn’t public until January 2017 after Perrie shared a picture of her and Alex sitting next to their dogs at the dinner table on her Instagram page.
