Dancing with the Stars couple Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are growing their family! Peta has announced she is pregnant with the couple’s third baby together. The news comes 7 months after Peta and Maks welcomed their second baby in June 2023. “We Are Having A Baby.”
To announce the news, Peta and Maks shared a video to their Instagram page that showed Peta breaking the news to her husband via FaceTime. They were both shocked but incredibly happy at the prospect of growing their family. However, according to Peta, they’re going to need a bigger place to accommodate their newest family member! The dancer addressed the timing of her pregnancy in her post writing, “Yes we know…we just had a baby… haha! This was very unexpected at (4 months postpartum with Rio) but we are sooooo happy and so ready to be a family of 5 soon!”
Peta and Maks share two sons together: Shai Aleksander, born in January 2017, and Rio John, born in June 2023. Before becoming pregnant with Rio, Peta suffered 3 miscarriages as well as a failed embryo transfer via IVF. The Peta Jane Beauty founder addressed her fertility challenges in her baby three announcement writing, “After everything we’ve been through with miscarriages and IVF we’re beyond blessed and know we are uber lucky for this miracle to happen to us. We’re just so happy that we can finally tell you guys the good news.”
The dancers first met in 2009 on Broadway in the production Burn the Floor but maintained a platonic friendship until reunited in 2011 on Dancing with the Stars. They began dating in 2012 but broke up at the end of 2013. They rekindled their romance in 2014 and have been together ever since. Peta and Maks tied the knot in July 2017, six months after Shai was born.
