Last month, Dancing with the Stars pros Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy announced they were expecting their third baby together. The news came seven months after the couple welcomed their second baby together in June 2023. Now, the couple has revealed the sex of their upcoming new arrival.
The couple shared a video from their gender reveal event that began with a family photoshoot, which included the dancer’s parents. Everyone was dressed in all black for the occasion. After video clips from the photoshoot, Peta and Maks were shown standing outdoors and popping smoke poppers to reveal blue smoke. It’s a boy! This little one will make the couple’s third son. The two, who tied the knot in July 2017, share sons Shai Aleksander,7, and Rio John, 9 months.
The dancer reflected on becoming a boy mom three times over in her post writing, “I’ve been quietly preparing myself to be a real-life wolf pack Mumma with our THIRD baby boy on the way 🙏🏻🤣💙 I CANNOT BELIEVE WE WILL HAVE 3 BOYS!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Maks and I are beyond happy to have another buddy for Shai and Rio…we want them to be the best of friends and thinking about family dinners already makes us laugh! Not to mention when Rio turns 1 , I will give birth to this bundle of joy a couple of weeks later.” She also asked her followers for help with name ideas, noting she was looking for monikers that are 3, 4, or 5 letters long.
In an interview with PEOPLE late last month, Maks opened up about his excitement to welcome a new baby into his family. “It’s definitely a dream come true, all those beat-up phrases. I’m extremely excited to be in this position, in this place in my life. I dreamt about this before. The family with somebody that I really want to have a family with. This unconditional love and house and it’s all of that.” In the interview, Maks was looking forward to sharing the sex because he said the couple needed help with name ideas. “We’ll definitely open up for people’s suggestions because I’ve run out of ideas and letters in the alphabet.”
