Right on the tail of some exciting royal family news yesterday, Pippa Middleton and her husband, James Matthews, added another bit of happiness: they welcomed their first child on Monday!
Rumors began to fly when Pippa was seen entering St. Mary’s Hospital in London on Monday, with reports that she was going into labor. A spokesperson for the couple has now confirmed to People.com that they did, in fact, have a baby boy.
The spokesperson shared that the 8-pound 9-ounce baby was born that same day, noting that “everyone is delighted, and mother and baby are doing well.”
Of course, there’s no word on the baby’s name just yet.
It’s been a bit of a big week for the royals and their families, with Princess Eugenie’s wedding and the buzz surrounding the announcement that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child.
Pippa is, of course the sister of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge. Kensington Palace released a statement following Pippa’s baby news, noting: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are thrilled for Pippa and James.”
