During their interview with Oprah, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have revealed the gender of their second child together!
It’s a girl! “To have a boy then a girl — what more can you ask for?” Prince Harry said in the interview. He continued sharing about learning he would have a daughter that he is “grateful. Having any child, any one or a two would have been amazing, but to have a boy and then a girl . . . now we’ve got our family and we’ve got four of us.”
That’s not all the couple had to reveal about their growing family. They’ve also shared that their baby girl will be the last child they welcome. “Two is it,” they said. Their daughter is expected to arrive this summer.
The couple announced the news that they were expecting this past Valentine’s Day. The date was significant for the couple and done in honor of the late Princess Diana. On Valentine’s Day in 1984, Princess Diana officially announced she was expecting her second child — Harry.
Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed their first child together in May of 2019, a son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. In their interview with Oprah, Meghan opened up about Archie’s role in the royal family. “They didn’t want him to be a prince . . . which would be different from protocol,” she shared, “and that he wasn’t going to receive security. We have in tandem the conversation of, ‘He won’t be given security. He’s not going to be given a title.’ And also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.” Meghan declined to answer who specifically made those comments. Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals last year.
Congratulations to Prince Harry and Meghan on the news of welcoming a baby girl into the world. We wish them all the best as they prepare for her arrival!
