Princess Beatrice, granddaughter to Queen Elizabeth and daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, has welcomed her first child! Buckingham Palace released a statement announcing that Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, gave birth to their first child together over the weekend.

The statement from Buckingham Palace read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.” It’s a girl! Princess Beatrice and Edoardo’s daughter weighed 6 pounds and 2 ounces at birth.

The Palace’s statement continued with: “The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news. The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf.” Edoardo shares a son named Christopher Woolf, known as “Wolfie,” with architect and designer Dara Huang, whom he was previously in a relationship with.

The name Princess Beatrice and Edoardo chose for their daughter, who is Queen Elizabeth’s 12th great-grandchild, has not yet been revealed. The couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony last July, after their original wedding date of May 29, 2020 had to be rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Congratulations to Princess Beatrice and Edoardo on the arrival of their baby girl! We wish them all the best as the embark on this exciting new adventure together.
