Actress Rachel McAdams is expecting her second child with her boyfriend, screenwriter Jamie Linden. The news was confirmed when Rachel was spotted stepping out in Los Angeles, a growing baby bump in full view.
Rachel and Jamie welcomed their first child, a son who is now 2 years old, in April of 2018. The actress doesn’t share many details about her son, choosing not to share pictures of him or discuss him very much in interviews.
She did make a bold statement as a mother 8 months after welcoming her son in an empowering photo. While Rachel was in the middle of a photoshoot for Girls.Girls.Girls Magazine, she needed to breastfeed. Claire Rothstein, Girls.Girls.Girls founder and photographer shared the amazing behind-the-scenes moment on Instagram. The photo has since become iconic, with other women, including actress Hilary Duff, taking similar photos.
Rachel and Jamie were first spotted together as a couple in the spring of 2016. They have kept their relationship very private, only make rare red carpet or public appearances together.
The actress has recently spoken about being a mother during quarantine and how she’s been spending lots of quality time with her son. “It’s something that you’ll never get to do quite like this again,” she told ET. “It’s such extraordinary circumstances and we’re just making the best of it. And I was reading something about that in The New York Times, like, ‘Don’t worry about your kids,’ because he was just starting to really talk and open up and socialize. ‘The time they’re getting and they’re learning other skills that will benefit them just as much as socializing so just you know, relax, it’ll be okay’ ”
We wish Rachel and her family all the best as they prepare to welcome another bundle of joy to the family!
