Rachel McAdams is one celebrity who manages to keep the details of her personal life pretty private, but she’s finally sharing more about her life as a new mom.
Her first child was born seven months ago and, in a new interview with The Sunday Times U.K., she notes just how life altering the experience has been.
Rachel shared: “It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, hands down. [People say] your life is not your own any more. But I had 39 years of me, I was sick of me, I was so happy to put the focus on some other person.”
The actress and her boyfriend, screenwriter Jamie Linden, welcomed their son in April, with Rachel explaining that she “waited a long time” to become a mom. She noted, “It’s just how it happened. And I didn’t want to do it before it was the right time.”
The couple haven’t shared any information about their son or his name and she plans to keep it that way, noting: “I want to keep his life private, even if mine isn’t.”
She continued, “But I’m having more fun being a mum than I’ve ever had. Everything about it is interesting and exciting and inspiring to me. Even the tough days — there’s something delightful about them.”
