Last month, rapper Da Brat announced that she is pregnant with her first child at 48 years old. Now, Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris-Dupart, and her wife Jesseca have revealed the sex of their little one!
Before the reveal, Da Brat shared photos of the couple at their gender reveal party. The women went all out in dressing for the occasion. The rapper wore a fake textured mohawk in pink and blue colors while Jesseca’s hair was dyed half pink and half blue. Da Brat dressed in a baby pink sweatsuit and also had a varsity-style jacket to switch out in baby pink, baby blue, and white colors. For her outfit, Jesseca wore a fringe blue dress and paired it with an oversized pink belt.
A few hours later, the “What’Chu Like” singer shared a video of the reveal from the party. The announcement came on a screen and counted down until revealing… it’s a boy! The couple was showered in blue confetti following the announcement and they embraced and jumped in excitement. “Baby Harris – Dupart is a boy.” The rapper discussed the gender of her little one at the beginning of the month and shared, “People ask us often #teamboy or #teamgirl ….. we are 100% simply team healthy baby.” While this little one is Da Brat’s first child, Jesseca has three children. The Kaleidoscope Hair Products founder has two sons named Byron and Jay and a daughter named Deja.
The day after Da Brat announced her pregnancy, she shared an inspiring message to anyone who was questioning the timing of their lives. “Somewhere over the rainbow 🌈 First comes LOVE ❤️ , then comes MARRIAGE 💍, then comes …. well you know 🤰🏽 We hope that sharing our story INSPIRES someone who ever felt like there time was never coming to CONTINUE on their journey. Finding the LOVE of your life can happen after 30 , after 40 , after 50 and so on. Having the life you always wanted can happen STILL. Just keep going , no matter what people say…”
