Love is Blind star Jessica Batten has shared exciting news for the new year. The reality star is expecting her first child with her husband Benjamin McGrath! “New Year, Same Me, New Mom!”
Jessica shared a series of photos that showed the new mom-to-be wearing a stunning brown velour cutout dress as Benjamin held her stomach from behind. “We’re excited and humbled to share we will welcome our baby into the world and into our growing family in early June ♥️ Ahh!!!” While this little one with be Jessica’s first child, this will make baby number 3 for Benjamin. He has a daughter named Poppy and a son named Ethan from a previous relationship.
Though Jessica appeared in the first season of Love is Blind, she did not find love on the show, but it did lead her to meet Benjamin, a foot and ankle surgeon. After the season aired in February 2020, Benjamin reached out to Jessica on Instagram and the couple went on their first date in March, right before the first COVID lockdown in 2020. The couple became engaged in September 2021 and married just one month later in October. They were wed in an intimate ceremony of just four people at a historic courthouse in Santa Barbara.
Just before tying the knot, Jessica spoke with People about becoming a stepmother to Benjamin’s children. “It’s been awesome and three for the price of one for me. I didn’t know this would be in my future, but I couldn’t imagine my life without them. They’re so super special to me.” The reality star had already been thinking about growing her family with Benjamin before walking down the aisle. “We can’t wait to start. I think we’re going to have a very short engagement, and then, yeah, we’re definitely [going to have] kids down the road. Whatever that looks like for us, whatever God blesses us with. I’m also open to adoption too, so we’ll see what happens.”
Congratulations to Jessica and Benjamin on the news of their first child together! We wish them lots of love as they prepare to grow their family.
