Last month, it was reported that musicians Rihanna and A$AP Rocky had welcomed their second baby together. While the baby’s birth date and sex was shared, the name was not revealed at the time. Now, The Blast has reportedly obtained the little one’s birth certificate, which reveals the newborn’s moniker.

The birth certificate confirms one previous detail about the Umbrella singer’s newborn, that the little one is a boy. However, the original birth date was off by a few days. It had been reported that the baby boy was born on August 3rd, but rather, he was born on August 1st at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. The couple has reportedly named their second son Riot Rose Mayers.

The “R” moniker also aligns with previous reports as it was predicted the couple would choose to follow the “R” naming pattern. The couple’s first baby, who was born in May 2022, is named RZA Athelston and his name was only just announced this past May, ahead of the little one’s first birthday. In addition to Rihanna, A$AP Rocky’s real name also starts with an R: Rakim. While RZA was named after the Wu-Tang Clan member by the same name, it’s unclear if Riot’s name has any specific association. However, A$AP Rocky did release a collaboration song with Pharrell Williams this year titled “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n).”

One week after RZA’s name was reported, Rihanna confirmed the news with a post on Instagram that casually mentioned her son’s name. It’s likely the “Diamonds” singer will do the same if she chooses to confirm the name reveal. It’s worth noting that neither singer has announced the birth of their second son, but that’s not different from when RZA was born. The first time the couple shared a picture of their son was for their Vogue March 2023 cover feature.
