And the award for best kept secret in Hollywood goes to … Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling! Just two weeks after news broke that the long-time couple were expecting their second child, TMZ confirmed that their baby girl was born on April 29th!
Though their representatives have declined to comment, the birth certificate names their child as Amada Lee Gosling. The name Amada originates from the Spanish language and means “beloved.” However, Eva’s connection to the name runs much deeper. Her grandmother was named Amada and Amada was the name of a character she played in the 2007 film We Own The Night. The couple also chose Amada as the middle name for their first child, 20-month-old daughter Esmeralda Amada Gosling.
The notoriously private couple have been dating since 2011 when they met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines. While neither seem in a hurry to get married, Ryan told Hello!Magazine: “I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with — I’m not looking for anything else beyond Eva — and I feel very lucky that we have a beautiful, healthy daughter, who is an angel. That’s investment enough for me.”
