Selling Sunset star Heather Rae El Moussa (née Young) and HGTV star Tarek El Moussa are growing their family! The couple announced that they are expecting their first child together. “It was a huge shock,” Heather shared.
Heather and Tarek opened up about their first pregnancy together with People, sharing that they “weren’t expecting” this news. “We had just gone through IVF,” Heather shared. “We had embryos on ice. We had a plan. I think when you least expect it and there’s no stress in your life, the world just brought us what was meant to be. I’m so excited that it happened like this.” The couple’s first child is expected to arrive in early 2023.
While this new baby will be Heather’s first child, this will be baby number three for Tarek. Tarek shares a daughter named Taylor, 11 and a son named Brayden, 6 with his ex-wife and co-host of the HGTV series Flip or Flop Christina Hall. Heather and Tarek began dating in 2019 and tied the knot on October 23, 2021.
When the couple first got together, children weren’t part of their plan. “When we first started dating three years ago, we went into our relationship not planning on having children together,” the Selling Sunset realtor explained. “I really love being a bonus mom to Taylor and Brayden. They’re such incredible kids and I love them so much.” She then described how her feeling ultimately changed. “But as your love grows more and more and you fall deeper in love with someone and you build this life together, I started picturing myself having a child with Tarek. I started thinking I just wanted to create something with the man that I’m in love with.”
Tarek talked with People about his love for being a dad. “I’m just obsessed with my kids. They’re my everything, so having another one is just icing on the cake. I’m so excited.” Heather added how wonderful Tarek is as a father. “He’s such a good dad. That was another reason why I wanted to create something with him. Seeing him with Taylor and Braden, he’s just so obsessed with them. And he’s such a doting, amazing dad. I can’t wait to see him with our baby.”
