Realtor Maya Vander, one of the stars of the Netflix reality series Selling Sunset, announced in July that she and her husband were expecting their third child together. A few weeks after season 4 of the TV series premiered on Netflix, Maya has shared a sad update on her pregnancy.

“Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. I had a still birth at 38 weeks,” Maya shared in an emotional post on Instagram. The Miami realtor posted an image of a small box with baby blankets, one of which was stitched into a heart. “I always heard of it but never imagined I’ll be part of the statistics. Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box… I do not wish this on anyone. What was a regular weekly checkup turned into a nightmare that I never imagine will happen to me.”

Maya continued by sharing why she chose to reveal this news publicly. “Given I share my pregnancies in the show I knew I’ll have to post about this and avoid the ‘when is your due date’ question.” She closed out her post by sharing a message to her son and his name. “You will always be in our heart baby Mason.”

Some of Maya’s fellow Selling Sunset co-stars offered their condolences in the comments of her post. Chrishell Stause wrote, “This is the unimaginable. It’s hard to find words. My heart aches for you and your family. You are surrounded by so much love. Here for you for absolutely anything you need.” Mary Fitzgerald commented, “My heart is breaking for you babe. Sending you prayers, love, and strength.”

Maya and her husband, whose name has not yet been revealed, share two children together: a son named Aiden and a daughter named Elle. We wish Maya and her family love and strength as they navigate this difficult time.
