Los Angeles Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani is going to be a dad! The pitcher and his wife Mamiko Tanaka announced they are expecting their first baby together. “Can’t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon!”
The MLB player shared a flat lay image on Instagram to share that news that featured a pink onesie, blue booties, a sonogram image, and the couple’s dog Decoy. Shohei didn’t share any further details about his firstborn, including the little one’s sex and anticipated due date.
Shohei’s baby news comes less than one year after he and Mamiko tied the knot. In February, the baseball player shared a text-based post to reveal he had tied the knot. He wrote on Instagram at the time, “To all my friends and fans throughout , I have an announcement to make: Not only have I began a new chapter in my career with the Dodgers but I also have began a new life with someone from my Native country of Japan who is very special to me and I wanted everyone to know I am now married.” He ended the post writing, “I am excited for what is to come and thank you for your support.”
The couple has largely kept their relationship private. Mamiko doesn’t have an active Instagram account and Shohei rarely post images of her on his own account. However, the two have been photographed occasionally while attending public events. We wish the couple a huge congratulations on their family news and the best of luck as they prepare to add a bundle of joy to their household.
