U.S. Women’s National Team soccer champion Crystal Dunn has revealed that she is pregnant! Crystal and her husband, Pierre Soubrier, announced that they will be welcoming their first child together in May of next year.

“The biggest blessing of them all,” Crystal shared in her post. “We are so excited and happy to be adding a member to our family in 2022!” Many other athletes wished Crystal congratulations on her post. Crystal’s former NWSL’s North Carolina Courage teammate Carson Pickett wrote, “Congrats this is amazing.” Another former teammate from NWSL’s North Carolina Courage Cari Roccaro shared, “Finally I can speak. I LOVE YOUUUUUUU❤️ SO MUCH.” Pierre, an athletic trainer, announced the news on his Instagram page as well writing, “Boom let’s go! So proud of you @cdunn19.”

Crystal, who currently plays for the Portland Thorns FC of the National Women’s Soccer League, opened up about her family life earlier this year with People reflecting on a time when she and Pierre were living apart. Just after the couple tied the knot in 2018, Pierre moved to Portland, Oregon for a job. Crystal was playing with NWSL’s North Carolina Courage at the time and the distance took its toll.

“I think distance is one thing, but my husband and I were living completely on the opposite coasts and it got really challenging,” she shared with the publication. “I think at the end of 2020, we were like, ‘Listen, enough is enough.’ We value companionship. We value really just seeing each other and family. And sometimes if that is more important than just work. And I’m really grateful that the Thorns organization was able to get me here.”

Congratulations to Crystal and Pierre on the news of their growing family! We wish them all the best as they prepare to welcome their first child.
