Last month, professional surfer Bethany Hamilton shared a family video with a cheeky caption that announced she and her husband Adam Dirks were expecting their fourth child. The athlete, who lost her left arm as a teenager following a shark attack, is having fun with her pregnancy and recently shared a progress video showing her baby bump growing from 2 months through 6 months.
Set to the song “Tainted Love” by Queen D and TRINIX, Bethany excitedly shared a collage of videos, most of which were taken at her home gym, smiling as she showed off her baby bump. “Grateful to God for this lil sweetie growing inside of me! So fun to see the transformation of my body.”
In March, the surfer shared a fun pregnancy announcement. She posted a video of her husband and their three sons – Tobias, Wesley, and Micah – and shared in the caption, “We’ve got SIX of us on board!!!” The “Surfing Past Fear” author went on to write, “Adam and I, and our whole fam, are so excited to be growing our family! I believe that life is a gift, and each and every life has value.” The couple’s fourth child is due this summer.
In addition to her pregnancy announcement, Bethany opened up about how motherhood has changed her for the better. “8 years in to motherhood, I’ve realized that I value my children more than I value ‘my’time. I value my family more than I value other things like certain types of wealth or success. I believe a joy-filled family is wealth, and to know God, that is the most beautiful and precious wealth of all. We can pursue so many things in life, but what if we pursued what is right in front of us: the beautiful blessing that is family?!”
We wish Bethany and her family all the best as they prepare to add another little one to the bunch.
