Fashion designer and star of Queer Eye Tan France has announced that he and his partner, illustrator Rob France, are expecting their first child together! Tan announced the news on his Instagram and shared that they are welcoming a child via surrogate.
Tan shared his own version of a maternity picture where he held his stomach, over which was a sonogram image of his little one. In the caption, he wrote, “So happy to finally share that WE’RE HAVING A BABY!! No, I’m not pregnant, despite this VERY realistic pic. With the greatest gift/help of the most wonderful surrogate, Rob and I are lucky enough to be on our way to being parents, this Summer.”
Tan went on to share that this exciting new journey was something he and Rob have always wanted. “Something we’ve wanted for SOooo many years. Our hearts are so full right now. I cannot wait to hold this baby, and to show him so much love.”
On Rob’s Instagram, he shared his own announcement and used his artistic ability to share the news. He illustrating a gorgeous photo of a baby. He captioned the image, “We have a beautiful little angel on the way and I didn’t think it was humanly possible to feel like this.”
Tan and Rob met on a dating website in 2008. When it came time to take the next step in their relationship, Tan shared on an episode of Queer Eye that there wasn’t a fancy proposal. He told his castmates, “You know there wasn’t an actual proposal. It was a case of, ‘we’re going to get married one day, right?’ ‘Yeah, of course, we are.’ We just had agreed it was going to happen one day and then we arranged the date.”
Congratulations to Tan and Rob on growing their family! We wish them all the best as they prepare to welcome a little one into the world.
