Fashion designer and star of Queer Eye Tan France has announced the arrival of his first child! Tan and his husband, illustrator Rob France announced the news on Instagram that their child arrived early via surrogate.

Tan and Rob are now the proud parents of a baby boy! “Give our son a warm welcome,” Tan captioned his image. They have chosen to name their son Ismail France. Ismail is an Arabic name that means “God will hear.”

Tan revealed that Ismail arrived on July 10th. “He came 7 weeks early, so he’s been in the NICU for the past 3 weeks. But, today, we finally got to bring him home. We love him so, so much. Like, fully obsessed,” Tan wrote. “Our Surrogate is doing so great, post labor, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the greatest gift in our lives.”

Tan and Rob in 2008 met on a dating website. When it came time to take the next step in their relationship, Tan shared on an episode of Queer Eye that there wasn’t a fancy proposal. He told his castmates, “You know there wasn’t an actual proposal. It was a case of, ‘we’re going to get married one day, right?’ ‘Yeah, of course, we are.’ We just had agreed it was going to happen one day and then we arranged the date.”

Congratulations to Tan and Rob on welcoming Ismail! We wish them all the best as they embrace their new role as fathers.
