Country music star Thomas Rhett has announced that his wife, Lauren Akins, is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child. Thomas made the announcement during his performance in Fort Worth, which happens to be the hometown of Lauren’s mom. He shared that he was about to play his song “To The Guys That Date My Girls” when Lauren spoke to him through his earpiece and said, “you can tell them if you want.”
In her announcement post, Lauren shared that their fourth child will be coming in November of 2021. The couple also shared the gender: it’s another girl! This will be the couple’s fourth child together. Thomas joked, “We are pumped to be having our 4th girl. Feel free to buy all the merch you want, knowing that all the proceeds are going straight to all these weddings I’ll be paying for one day!” He went on to say that he and Lauren “always wanted a big thanksgiving table.”
Lauren and Thomas adopted their first child, Willa Gray, from Uganda in 2017 after a lengthy adoption process. During the adoption process, the couple learned they were pregnant with their second child. Daughter Ada James was born in August 2017. They welcomed their third daughter, Lennon Love, in February of 2020.
Thomas and Lauren have known each other since they were in elementary school. They met in the first grade in Valdosta, Georgia. When they were teenagers, they dated briefly but eventually went their separate ways. They remained good friends. But they couldn’t keep their love for each other aside. They reconnected and dated for six months before getting engaged. The couple tied the knot in 2012.
Congratulations to Thomas and Lauren on growing their family! We wish them all the best as they prepare to welcome another daughter.
