Thompson Square’s Keifer and Shawna Thompson welcomed their first child, son Rigney Cooper Thompson (“Cooper”), in January of this year.  Last week, the country duo released a video for “You Make It Look So Good” featuring home footage of their first months at home with their son.

The new parents told People “It was the scariest thing we have ever experienced during the first three weeks…We were like ‘I can’t believe that they let us take him home.  We have no idea what we’re doing.’ After the sleep-deprived-almost-killing-each-other phase was over and we realized that he was probably going to be okay and it wasn’t an impossible feat, we started enjoying our new life.”

The song’s lyrics includes the verses,

Lately you’ve been/Taking up all my time
I used to spend with/My friends talking, drinking wine’
Love was never really high on my list
Baby, now you’re showing me what I missed

Keifer explained the inspiration behind “You Make It Look So Good” to theboot.com, saying “When I was younger, I thought I would never get married; I didn’t want anything to do with that. When you do meet that right person … it’s like, ‘Maybe being tied down to one person isn’t that bad’ … and pretty soon, it just consumes you.”

The husband and wife duo told People, “We just sat down with some of our videos and iMovie and got it done. This song and every other song seems to have new meaning with Cooper being here. It just makes sense.”  Keifer and Shawna celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary this month.
