Actress Torrey DeVitto is a mom! The Chicago Med alum quietly welcomed her first baby with her husband Jared LaPine late last month. The news was revealed in a post shared by her husband back in November.
In her latest Instagram post, the One Tree Hill alum shared a black and white photo of her husband holding their newborn. The post was to honor the actress’s husband for his birthday. Over on Jared’s profile, a post from November revealed details about the couple’s newborn. The couple welcomed their first baby, a daughter, on November 21st. They chose to name her Lyle–Josephine Alina LaPine. Torrey commented on her husband’s post, “Already the best dad there ever was !”
Following the announcement of his daughter’s birth, the new dad penned a touching post for his wife, accompanied by the Skelly star sitting in a hospital bed holding her daughter close. “As I sit on my hospital bed, watching my wife hold our gorgeous newborn baby girl, I would like to take a moment to praise this beautiful, strong, and amazing woman. The past 9 months of her pregnancy, I have watched my wife put our baby first in EVERYTHING she has done . I have watched countless nights of no sleep, excruciating acid-reflux, horrible aversions, and intense hormones.”
The director went on to describe Torrey’s birth story writing, “We were induced Monday morning at 7:30am and little Lyle-Josephine didn’t come until Thursday at 4:19pm. It was a struggle like nothing I have ever seen before and it completely terrified me. Torrey is the strongest person I have ever met. Period. She did all of this of this so that our little girl would be healthy as humanly possible. She succeeded tremendously. Today we get to take that beautiful girl to her new home. I am so lucky I get to watch and learn from the best mother in the world. What a special gift that is and thank you for making me a dad! I love BOTH of you girls with everything I have.”
The Hallmark star met her now-husband through her cousin and the two went public with their relationship in June 2023. That September, the couple got engaged. Torrey announced in May that she was pregnant. The Pretty Little Liars star wed Jared in September of this year at Inisfree Estate in Pullman, Michigan.
