Ellie Kemper, the star of Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt had some incredible news to share with Jimmy Fallon last night – she’s pregnant with her first child!

Ellie made the announcement while appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. When Fallon presented her with a carton of Ben and Jerry’s The Tonight Dough Ice Cream, she was thrilled.  “Tonight Dough is my favorite flavor; I’ve been having a pint every other night!” she told him excitedly. “It’s not really proven, but every baby turns out to be a genius if you eat it while pregnant.” the host replied.

During her interview, Ellie confessed that she had to share her pregnancy early on when she learned during a table that her character Kimmy was supposed to go on a roller coaster ride.

“I felt like a pregnant lady on a rollercoaster was not ideal…so I did tell my boss, Tina Fey.”  “She knows every secret!” Jimmy interjected. “Oh, I told her before I told my mom!” Ellie said, laughing.  “You can trust Tina.” Jimmy agreed. Ellie joked, “You can trust Tina. You cannot trust my mom.” Watch the video below.

This will be the first child for Kemper and her husband of nearly four years, Michael Koman.  Koman previously worked as a writer for Conan O’Brian before going on to write for MadTV and co-create the critically acclaimed Comedy Central series, Nathan for You.  In addition to Unbreakable, Kemper is also known for her roles on the TV show The Office, the film Bridesmaids, and as guest host  for TODAY’s Take.  The second season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt will debut on Netflix tomorrow, April 15!
