Actress Vanessa Morgan is growing her family! The Riverdale star took to Instagram to announce she is pregnant with her second baby. This little one will be her first baby with her boyfriend James Karnik, a basketball player.
Vanessa shared a series of images of her and James from an outdoor maternity photoshoot, where the actress’s growing baby bump was in full view. The Wild Cards star will welcome her little one rather soon, sharing in her caption, “So in love with this man, our family of 4 coming this month. Surprise! Thank you GOD.” Vanessa and James have reportedly been together since 2022. In his post, the Vancouver Bandit player revealed the sex of the couple’s baby, sharing an image of him holding Vanessa alongside the caption, “Holdin BOTH my girls at the same time.” It’s a girl!
Vanessa welcomed her first baby in January 2021, a son named River. The actress shares her son with her ex-husband Michael Kopech, pitcher for the Chicago White Socks. The couple were separated at the time of River’s birth, and it was later revealed the couple had filed for divorce one month before Vanessa announced her first pregnancy in July 2020.
The Finding Carter star spoke about her divorce for the first time this past March while appearing on the podcast Broad Ideas with actress Rachel Bilson. She shared about her divorce, “In the moment, it’s so painful. It’s almost like we idolize what our dream reality [was] from when we were a kid. You mourn the future that never happened. You mourn the fantasy that you created, and that wasn’t the reality that was the best alignment for me. God saved me. I only saw the bigger picture now. You go through those two years of pain. I went through two years of pain.”
