YouTuber Stevin John, known as his alias Blippi in his educational videos for toddlers and young children, has announced that he is going to become a dad! Stevin and his partner, Alyssa Ingham, are going to welcome their first child together in 2022. Stevin shared that he and Alyssa are “so excited.”
Stevin and Alyssa shared the same series of images to announce the news, all of which showed the couple holding up sonogram images of their little one. The couple did not reveal the month their child is due nor did they disclose the gender.
Stevin first starting his videos as Blippi, a character with a child-like persona who educates young child through his engaging videos, in 2014. The idea came to him after witnessing his nephew, who was two-years-old at the time, watching low-quality videos on YouTube. Stevin wanted to created more high-quality content that was education and also showed a character thinking and acting as a child would. He has taken inspiration from child educators and entertainers, such as Mr. Rogers, and has found much success. His videos are now available for children on YouTube, Hulu, Amazon Kids, and more.
Back in 2018, Stevin opened up about the success of his online persona to The Spinoff. “Blippi is continuing to grow because these children really love Blippi, and now their parents are talking about it and spreading the love. I believe that children are super smart and they have good intuition. I think they can tell that Blippi is genuine and I have fun doing what I do. That’s one huge thing I have that big companies just can’t hire an actor to do.”
Stevin and his fiancée have been dating since 2015. The couple announced their engagement this past August. He popped the question to Alyssa on a beautiful beach. In his announcement post, he wrote, “I got upgraded from boyfriend to fiancé! @alyssaingham I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with you!”
