Former UFC star Ronda Rousey and MMA fighter Travis Browne have announced the arrival of their first child together! Ronda and Travis each shared images that featured their newborn. One image showed Ronda holding her little one close with their arm over her chest and the other image showed the baby’s arm over Travis’s chest.
The couple announced the gender of their little one last June and now their daughter has arrived! In their announcement posts, they revealed the unique name they chose for her: La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne. La’akea is a Hawaiian name that means “light sacredness” while the name of Makalapuaokalanipō is unknown but is also likely of Hawaiian origin.
To caption her announcement post, Ronda simply shared her daughter’s name followed by a heart while Travis captioned his post, “Welcome to this world La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne. You are so incredibly loved!”
This is not the first time Travis has chosen Hawaiian names for his children! Travis was born in Hawaii and his father is native to the state. The Hawaiian heritage is something Travis holds dear to him. He has two sons that he shares with his ex wife, Erin Browne, named Kaleo and Keawe. Kaleo means sound or voice while Keawe means thread.
Ronda and Travis were rumored to be dating in 2015, but had kept their relationship fairly private for quite some time. They became engaged in 2017 while on vacation in New Zealand. Travis popped the question in front of a stunning waterfall during a hike. Later that same year, they were married in Hawaii.
They recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary. Travis commemorated the occasion with a touching post on Instagram. “Today marks 4 of the best years of my life, you are everything to me, My Love!” he wrote. “These last 4 years are only the beginning of an amazing life together as we bring our little girl into this world. I hope she is just like her mother. Strong, fierce, confident, daring, brave, courageous, determined, loving, compassionate, patient, caring, affectionate, sweet, humble and so many more! I’m so excited for the next chapter of our life together!!”
