Actress Ally Maki is going to be a mom! The Big Door Prize star has revealed she and her fiancé Travis Atreo are expecting their first baby together. “There’s no hiding it anymore.”
The Toy Story 4 star shared her pregnancy news in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. “I’m showing a lot, so it’s time to announce it,” Ally shared, “Plus, I don’t want to hide it anymore. I’m at the point where I want my bump to be out and proud!” She revealed that she is in her second trimester. Ally admitted that pregnancy has been different than she expected it to be. “It’s been so beautiful in really unexpected ways. But it’s also been preparing me for parenthood in that you have the ultimate stress of doing all these tests after tests. That was just something I wasn’t expecting — just how many tests you do!” The Seaglass star went on to share, “As someone who likes to control a lot of the pieces of my life, it’s been almost freeing. Like, you know what? Whatever’s going to happen will happen.” She continued before revealing her baby’s sex, “We’re just going to love this child so much. We already love her.”
Ally and Travis dated for over six years before he proposed after Toy Story 4‘s premiere in Los Angeles in 2019. Ally voiced the role of Giggles in the animated film. During the pandemic, the couple began talking about trying to have a baby when the actress was diagnosed with Grave’s disease, an autoimmune disorder that causes overactive thyroid. Of the news, Ally shared, “That was devastating because I’m in my 30s and we’d wanted to start trying but then we had to wait a full year and a half to go through everything, and get the all-clear from my endocrinologist to start trying.”
Not long after that time went by, Ally’s thyroid levels were all in the red. “I started sobbing,” Ally recalled. “I was like something’s wrong, my thyroid has gone nuts. I did the one thing you’re not supposed to do, which is go on WebMD, to check why my levels would be so crazy. It said it could be the thyroid, it could be stress, or it could be pregnancy.” The Cloak & Dagger star took a test and she was pregnant! “In the span of five minutes I went from thinking it was the worst news in the world to being so elated. And shocked!”
Congratulations to Ally and Travis on the news of their first baby!
