Musician Aaron Carter revealed in June that he and his partner, Melanie Martin, were expecting their first child together this fall. With just a few days to go until his child’s birth, Aaron has revealed the name he and Melanie have chosen, including the special meaning behind it.

Aaron and Melanie will be welcoming a baby boy in just a few days and they have the name picked out and ready to go. The couple revealed the news in an article with TMZ. Their son’s name will be a nod to the musician’s relationship with the late pop star Michael Jackson: Prince Lyric Carter!

The first-time father wrote in his Instagram post sharing the article, “So blessed to be a daddy with a beautiful amazing loving mother my fiancé @missmelaniemartin has been such a trooper and so strong throughout this pregnancy 🤰 Thank you for everything baby girl we’ve been through hell and back with the world against us but they cannot stop our love @tmz_tv What a beautiful article! Thanks Charlie and Nikki and Harvey.”

Aaron and Michael were very close when the pop star was alive. Aaron considered him to be a friend and mentor. He told TMZ that Michael, who was famously known as the “King of Pop,” would refer to Aaron as the “Prince of Pop,” which was the inspiration behind Aaron naming his son Prince.

Prince is expected to arrive on November 18th. It looks as though Melanie may welcome her first son via c-section, as she is suffering some health complications. She has anemia and ulcerative colitis. On top of that, during the first six months of her pregnancy, baby Prince was in the breech position, though he has since moved to head-first.

We wish Aaron and Melanie good health and lots of love as they prepare to welcome baby Prince into the world!
