Actress Scarlett Hefner, née Byrne, who starred in the Harry Potter franchise portraying the role of Pansy Parkinson, announced on Thanksgiving that she is pregnant! But that’s not all… she and her husband Cooper Hefner, son of the founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy magazine Hugh Hefner, are expecting twins!
Scarlett shared a photo of her and Cooper with their first child Betsy Rose, whom they welcomed in August of last year, with the mom holding her growing baby bump to announce the news. “Thankful for our growing family,” Scarlett began her caption before revealing when her twins were due to arrive. “Cooper and I are very excited to share that we will be welcoming twins at the beginning of 2022.”
Cooper shared the same image to his own Instagram page alongside the caption, “Scarlett and I will be welcoming two new members of the family this spring. We couldn’t be happier as we wait on the arrival of our twins. A very Happy Thanksgiving to all!” The couple did not share whether they knew the gender of their twins.
When the couple welcomed their first child in August, they revealed a special meaning behind her name. Betsy was named after Cooper’s grandmother, Betsy Aldridge-Conrad, who had passed away a month before Cooper and Scarlett’s newborn. Cooper’s grandmother meant a great deal to the couple.
When Cooper revealed she had passed, he wrote on Instagram, “She was a mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and loved one. For the grandchildren of our family she was our Mema. Mema was kindhearted, generous, and loving to all who knew and met her. Each of our lives more wonderful as a result of being blessed with her soul and spirit. For me, Mema was another mother. The two of us shared a bond that filled my life with a joy and warmth that took me home no matter where I was in the world. How lucky we are to have been beneficiaries of her love. How lucky we are to carry her in our hearts each day moving forward. Until we see you again, we love you, with all our hearts, our Mema, my Mema.”
