Bachelor alums Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham welcomed their twin babies on June 11, 2021! The couple, who announced the gender of their twins in January, have added a new baby boy and girl to the family. So far, they’ve only revealed their twin son’s name.
When Lauren announced the news, she shared an image of herself and her twins in the hospital with a simple caption that shared their birth date. Arie, on the other hand, shared the same image Lauren posted and a few others from their stay at the hospital. His caption shared a special message about his wife. “Never been prouder of my wife than in this moment. She is the strongest woman I know and I’m lucky to be on this incredible journey with her. We are proud parents of a healthy boy and girl!”
The couple shared that their son has been discharged from the hospital and sent home, but their twin daughter is spending time in the NICU. They shared in a YouTube video posted to their channel, “It’s kind of day to day, to be honest,” Arie said in the video. “They don’t really know if she’ll come home tomorrow or the next day, or if she needs even more time.” He continued by sharing that she is “perfectly healthy” but is “having some trouble with her breathing” and is on oxygen.
Arie and Lauren’s first daughter, Alessi, has met her baby brother. The couple documented the pivotal moment on the YouTube page where they also shared their son’s name: Lux.
The couple has shared that they’ve had their twin’s names picked out since they chose the name for Alessi, who was born in 2019. “We’ve had them picked out for the last couple of years,” Lauren shared. “We came up with Alessi’s name. Right after we decided on her name, we actually chose the next two for our boy and our girl. “It just ended up working out where we’re now having a boy and a girl. So we’re just gonna use both of those names that we loved.”
