Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s wife Amy Earnhardt has announced the couple is expecting their second child together! Amy had the couple’s first child, daughter Isla, be the first to announce the news on Instagram.
In the video, Isla exclaimed, “I’m gonna be a sister!” Later that day, Amy shared another video of her and Isla sharing the news with Dale Jr. Amy asked Dale to read Isla’s shirt which read: “Super Amazing Sister.” Confused, but excited, Dale Jr. asked, “How do you know it’s a girl?” before realizing that Isla, of course, was the sister.
Dale Jr. was voted NASCAR’s 15-time most popular driver. He’s now retired from full-time racing but competes once a year in the second-tier XFINITY Series. As a newborn, Isla even had her own model car. She was 5-months-old when she first had the opportunity to see her father race. We’ll likely see baby number with a model car of his or her own as well!
Dale Jr. and Amy began dating in 2009. At first, Dale Jr. didn’t see marriage in his future. Eventually, he came around to the idea and the couple were married on New Year’s Eve 2016. They welcomed Isla in April of 2018.
We’re very happy for the Earnhardt family and wish Amy good health as she grows baby number 2.
