Actor Rupert Grint, famously known for portraying Ronald Weasley in the Harry Potter franchise, is expecting his first child! Rupert and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Georgia Groome were spotted shopping in North London for supplies amid the COVID-19 lockdown and Georgia’s growing baby bump was in full view!

Rupert and the Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging star have been dating on and off since 2011. Despite being together for nearly a decade, the couple has kept their relationship very quiet. A year ago, they sparked marriage rumors after Georgia was spotted with a gold band on her left-hand ring finger.

A rep for Rupert confirmed the rumors to E! News sharing this statement: “Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are excited to announce they are expecting a baby and would please ask for privacy at this time.”

This makes 31-year-old Rupert the first of the famed Harry Potter trio to become a parent. Fellow actress Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger, and fellow actor Daniel Radcliffe, who played the famous Harry Potter, have not yet welcomed any children, nor are either of them married.

It wasn’t too long ago that Rupert spoke about starting a family. In 2018, he shared with The Guardian, “Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn’t feel like I’m there yet and I don’t know what the future holds. I’m just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters and see what happens. I’d like to settle down and have kids soon.” If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with.”

We look forward to learning what Rupert and Georgina choose to name their new bundle of joy and are very excited about this next step in their lives!
