At the Grammys on Sunday, DJ Khaled took the moment to share some exciting family news while accepting the Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Performance for “Higher.” He revealed the name he and his fianceé have welcomed their second child and he shared the beautiful name they chose!
In his speech for his first Grammy win, DJ Khaled shared, “I want to thank my beautiful queen, Nicole. I just had a new baby boy a week ago. His name is Aalam. It means ‘the world’ in Arabic.” Such a sweet name for his second son! Khaled went on to speak to his first son, Asahd, “And I also want to big up my other son Asahd, I love you so much.”
Khaled takes his role as a father very seriously. He features his son Asahd prominently on his Instagram page and dotes on him endlessly. Khaled had shared that Asahd has been a huge inspiration to his work. He has dedicated his music to his son and even given Asahd an executive producer credit on all of his albums. It’s a truly beautiful relationship to behold! Aalam certainly appears to be joining great company with this family.
Khaled and his fianceé Nicole have been together for over twelve years. They became engaged in 2016 just before their son Asahd was born in October of that same year.
We want to wish much congratulations to this family, not only on Khaled’s well-deserved Grammy win, but also to the arrival of a new bundle of joy who will be loved endlessly.
