Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has grown his family! The “Bad Habits” singer revealed that he and his wife Cherry Seaborn welcomed their second child together. Ed’s Instagram announcement was a nod to the announcement he shared two years ago when he revealed the birth of his first child.
To announce the arrival of his second child, Ed posted an image of a pair of baby socks laid out on a knitted blanket. He used the same type of imagery to announce the birth of his daughter Lyra Antarctica in September of 2020. The “Joker and the Queen” singer revealed in his announcement that he’s welcomed another daughter. “Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl,” he wrote. “We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4.” The couple had not previously revealed that they were pregnant. Ed did not reveal the name he and Cherry chose for their second daughter.
Ed opened up in December of last year on The Ellen Degeneres Show about how being a dad has allowed him to find purpose in his life outside of his music career. “I just found that I really didn’t have purpose outside of [music] because when I was giving myself fixed time of no work, I wasn’t doing anything I enjoyed because I love doing music. And [being a dad] has actually given me purpose and something in life that’s actually more important than my job.”
