With the upcoming release of Elon Musk’s biography, written by Walter Isaacson, has come the release of family news for the Tesla founder. This week, the names of Elon’s twins, whom he shares with Shivon Zilis, were revealed nearly two yeas after their birth. Now, it’s been uncovered that Elon and Grimes have welcomed another baby to the Musk family.
The New York Times published a review of Elon’s biography where the news of his newest arrival was shared ahead of the book’s September 11th release date. Elon and Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, welcomed a baby boy who they’ve named Techno Mechanicus. The couple has nicknamed their third baby Tau and is Elon’s 11th child. The couple share son X Æ A-Xi, known as X, who was born in 2020, and daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, known as Y, born in 2021.
No other details about the little one were revealed and it’s unclear if more information exists in the biography at this time. Details such as the date and location of his birth are unknown. It’s also worth mentioning that the couple welcomed their second baby together via surrogate, and it’s likely Tau was born similarly. In 2022, she spoke with Vanity Fair about her decision to use surrogacy, citing complications with her first pregnancy with son X. “He was pressing on my nerves, so I kept collapsing. I took a few steps and collapsed. It was kind of scary, because you don’t want to fall a lot when you’re eight months pregnant. So I would just crawl to the bathroom and crawl back or whatever. I hemorrhaged. It was scary.”
Elon and Grimes have had a nontraditional relationship over the years and actually broke up while their surrogate was pregnant with the couple’s second baby. And now, it appears the two still have some semblance of a relationship. In the Vanity Fair article, the “Shinigami Eyes” singer explained of their relationship at the time, “”There’s no real word for it. I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time…. We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it.”
