American Idol alums Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner shared some exciting news in celebration of Mother’s Day. The couple is expecting their second child together! “Another life we get to love and cherish,” Gabby wrote in her announcement post.
Both Gabby and Cade shared a sonogram video of their little one and revealed that it’s a boy! “A son to bear our name into the next generation,” Cade shared in his post. The couple did not reveal when their son would make his arrival.
The couple welcomed their first child together in January of 2021. Their daughter Baylah May Foehner was born on January 18th. On Baylah’s first birthday this year, Gabby wrote about her daughter, “My precious little girl. My daughter. It’s not possible to explain in words the love a mother has for her child.” While the couple does share images featuring their daughter online, they do not show her face and either opt for images where her face isn’t shown or cover her face with an emoji.
Gabby and Cade met on the set of American Idol in 2018 during the show’s 16th season. The couple became engaged in March of 2019 and married the following October in Garrison, Texas at Union Springs in an intimate ceremony.
In celebration of their wedding anniversary last year, Cade shared touching words for his wife. “‘My Wife, my life’ is a phrase I often repeat in my head. I don’t know when I started saying it nor where it came from, but I do know it is true. It is true that you are my wife and by necessity you are my life. I cannot help but be enthralled by you. I watched you grow from a young girl, to a young adult, to a wife and now to a mother in just a matter of a few years. What I can say is that I am amazed by you.”
