Actress Halle Bailey is a mom! After months of speculation, The Color Purple star has revealed the birth of her first baby with her boyfriend DDG. “The greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me.”
While Halle didn’t reveal when in 2023 her newborn arrived, she did share some details. The Little Mermaid star and the rapper, whose real name Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, welcomed a baby boy and chose to name him Halo. The picture that accompanied Halle’s Instagram announcement was a close-up of couple holding their son’s hand and the little one wore a gold bracelet with his name engraved on it. “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo.”
To close out her announcement, Halle quipped, “the world is desperate to know you,” addressing her pregnancy speculation that’s been in the news in the months leading up to revealing Halo’s birth. Over the last few months, Halle has been spotted wearing loose-fit clothing at a Beyonce concert and on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards. She also appeared to be holding a baby bump in a photograph that circulated online.
The Grown-ish star was first linked to DDG in January 2022 after the two were spotted attending Usher’s Las Vegas Residency. The “Moonwalking in Calabasas” rapper confirmed the couple were dating two months later in an Instagram post celebrating the actress’s birthday. In a Cosmopolitan interview released in September of last year, Halle explained of her relationship with DDG, “You know, you have puppy love experiences, you think that’s love. But this is my first deep, deep, real love.”
Congratulations to Halle and DDG on the arrival of baby Halo!
