Rappers Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti have unexpectedly announced they had a baby after keeping her pregnancy a secret!
Iggy Azalea, whose birth name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, announced via an Instagram story that she has a son. She wrote, “I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more time passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world. I want to keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret & I love him beyond words.” No other information surrounding her son and pregnancy were shared.
While there were rumors that Azalea was pregnant, it was not confirmed. She urged fans and tabloids alike in a now deleted tweet, “It would be so great if you stopped paying any mind to random tea pages.” This is the first child for both Azalea and Carti.
Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Terrell Carter, began dating in late 2018 while Carti was on tour. According to The Fader, he said “Once I started talking to her, I just cut off everybody. It was over with.” There are also rumors circulating that the pair is engaged, but that remains unconfirmed. The couple moved in together after three months of dating and were robbed in November 2019 in their Atlanta home while Azalea was present. Over $350,000 worth of jewelry was stolen – including a $35,000 diamond engagement ring that helped fuel the rumors of an engagement.
Iggy Azalea, originally from Australia, shot to fame after the success of her debut studio album The New Classic released in 2014. Playboi Carti, from Atlanta, released his own debut studio album in May 2018 called Die Lit.
Congratulations to Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti!
