In April of this year, entertainment journalist Jason Kennedy and his wife Lauren Scruggs announced they were expanding their family. Now, the couple’s little one has arrived and they were happy to share the news in light of the current news landscape. “I’m sure your feed could use some good news today.”
In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared an image of their newborn lying in a crib as well as an image of her in the hospital, with the journalist preparing to cut her umbilical cord. Jason and Lauren had previously shared they were expecting a girl and have now revealed they chose to name her Poppy Ford Kennedy. “We wanted to share that our angel arrived on 10•10 and she’s giving all of you a big hug right now.”
News of the couple’s pregnancy came one year after they welcomed their first baby. Their son Ryver Rhodes was born in April 2022 via IVF following the couple’s four-year infertility journey. Lauren’s second pregnancy appears to have been unplanned as she shared in the initial announcement, “This was a major surprise and the sweetest plot twist.”
In August, the Stranded Shop founder shared a vulnerable post about her second pregnancy. “starting to count down the days to be a girl mama // it’s wild how different this pregnancy has been 〰️ i thought ryv moved a lot until carrying this little lady ▪️i feel so much more tired in this third trimester than i did with ryv▪️the nesting is a lot more intense (yay to getting home and settling in + i have a fun surprise to share soon with @crateandbarrel)▪️my bump is much bigger this time around▪️being pregnant in the summer is so fun but the sun really takes my energy▪️pregnancy brain is no joke on round two▪️i have learned to be much more patient with myself, give my body what it needs and have no shame in asking for help.”
Congratulations to Jason and Lauren on the arrival of baby Poppy!
