Entertainment journalist Jason Kennedy and his wife Lauren Scruggs have announced the arrival of their first child! The couple welcomed their little one on April 3rd and have already revealed the name they chose.
Jason announced in October that he and Lauren were going to welcome a baby boy. The couple named their son Ryver Rhodes Kennedy. Jason and Lauren shared a joint Instagram post to share the news that featured four images of the new family: one of them all together, one of Ryver and mom, another of Ryver and dad, and the last one of Ryver looking at the camera.
Jason shared an exclusive statement with Access Hollywood about becoming a new dad. “Trying to come up with words to fully process the last 48 hours aren’t possible. Seeing my son for the first time felt like a movie, I kept closing my eyes and finally realized it was true. We love this boy so much and are so thankful for this time together. Lo and Ryver are doing great.”
The couple announced in September of last year that they were pregnant. The exciting news came after the couple struggled to conceive for 4 1/2 years. They had been very open about their fertility and IVF journey on social media. “Update – PREGNANT! It’s happening and this is how I found out,” Jason shared at the time. “So many of you have prayed for us and wished us well on this 4 1/2 year journey. Our hope is that this news encourages anyone going through IVF or any fertility struggle. Thanks for caring and always asking for updates, it feels nice to be loved and we love you back.”
