Reality star Jedidiah Duggar, who goes by Jed, has announced the arrival of his first child! Jed and his wife Katey welcomed their first child on Monday, May 2nd at 6:34 PM. The couple revealed in September of last year that they were expecting.
“He’s here!” Jed wrote in the announcement post. The couple had previously shared they were expecting a son following a gender reveal party. Jed and Katey chose the name Truett Oliver Duggar for their son and shared that he will go by the nickname True. “We love you so much, baby True!” Jed wrote.
Jed shared the meanings of his son’s name sharing that Truett meant “Warrior for Christ” while Oliver means “Peace.” The couple documented their birth story and released the first video in what will be a series following their announcement. The video showed the couple preparing for Katey’s hospital stay and then the couple in the hospital while Katey labored. The video closed with Katey bouncing on a large ball while laboring and the monitor hooked up to hear True’s heartbeat.
The couple recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. They tied the knot in April 2021 after courting for a year. On their anniversary, Jed shared a picture of the couple on their wedding day and captioned the image, “It’s crazy to think that it has already been one year since we said ‘I do!’ Katey, you have been the greatest blessing in my life! I’m so grateful for God’s faithfulness to us. You are such an amazing wife and soon to be mother. I love you with all my heart!”
