Jedidiah Duggar, who typically goes by Jed, announced in September that he and his wife Katey were expecting their first child together. Now, the couple has revealed the gender of their little one!

The couple teased their gender reveal with a black and white photo on Instagram. The photo showed that the gender was revealed during a dedicated party where Jed hit a ball to reveal smoke the color associated with their child’s gender. The full reveal was shown in a YouTube video posted to the couple’s channel.

The video showed a gender reveal party with friends and family in attendance. Before the couple officially revealed the news, each guest had to take a lollipop that was either blue or pink to signify whether they each thought Jed and Katey’s baby was a boy or a girl. The couple then had the guests separate into two groups for each guess. Katey then joked in the video, “If you think it’s twins, you can stand in the middle.”

Jed hit the baseball to reveal blue smoke. It’s a boy! The couple’s son is due to arrive in Spring 2022.

Jed and Katey were married last year in April 2021 after quietly courting for about a year. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in Arkansas surrounded by family and close friends. The couple recently posted to their joint Instagram and YouTube channel about Jed’s proposal, which took place on Valentine’s Day. “Looking back on our romantic winter proposal on Valentine’s Day!” the post was captioned, “It was -13°F and snowing! She was SO surprised!!”

Congratulations to Jed and Katey on the news of their baby boy! We wish them all the best as they prepare to welcome their first child into the world.
