In April, news was revealed that country singer Jimmie Allen was expecting his fourth baby, his third with his wife Alexis Gale. Now, the couple has welcomed their little one into the world and shared more than one piece of happy news.
Alexis took to her Instagram account to announce the birth of the couple’s baby boy. They chose to name him Cohen Ace James and he was born on September 27th. Cohen joins the family with the couple’s first two children, daughters Naomi Bettie and Zara James. The “Down Home” singer has another child from a previous relationship, a son named Aadyn.
News of the couple’s pregnancy came alongside news of their separation. In a since-deleted Instagram post, the “Be Alright” singer revealed, “After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have made the decision to separate. As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will be welcoming another child together later this year.” The musician, who has also recently been accused of sexual assault and sexual abuse, and his wife both filed for divorce. However, following the birth of Cohen, they revealed they were back together.
Jimmie’s rep shared exclusively with PEOPLE that the divorce “was never fully seen through legally” and that the couple “decided to work on things together and are still together.” Jimmie and Alexis first met in the spring of 2019 and their relationship moved rather quickly. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in June 2020 before holding a big event for family and friends the following May.
Congratulations to Jimmie and Alexis on the birth of baby Cohen! We wish them lots of love as they focus on their family.
